Colour Codes

Colour	Details
Red	Easy Riders This group of riders meets on the first Saturday of each month for a 2 or 3 hour leisurely ride from a range of Kirklees locations. The idea is to encourage people who are new to cycling or who do not feel that they could undertake a full club ride to come out and ride at a gentle pace with club members who will encourage them. Nobody is ever left behind, and this is a superb way of starting off this great activity. More details about these rides can be found on pages 15 and 16 of Headset Magazine (see About Us Page).
Black	Sunday Club Rides These are easygoing affairs which last the whole day (not long in winter!) and include cafe stops for refreshment and idle chatter, though you can still bring your own packed food if you wish.
Purple	Social Events The major one is the Section prize presentation evening in November. It would help if you let Ken Roberts know whether you fancy going to this event, to assist Pete Ralph with his famous catering arrangements (contact details for Ken on contacts page), but you can still turn up without booking. Price of tickets is £5, from Ken.
Green	Tuesday Evening Club Rides There are just two of these this winter: Compo's Cafe in December and Tunnel End Inn in January. The rides are of course in the dark at this time of year; but there is light, warmth and food to look forward to at the end of it. You can of course still come on the ride without partaking of the supper. Or you can come to the supper without partaking of the ride! The aim is to get there about 8pm for the grub, after which everyone goes home when they please. At Compo's Cafe it will simply be a case of choosing from the menu, while the Tunnel End in January will be their famous and much appreciated home-made meat and potato pie (with mushy peas) or vegetarian option. It is helpful to these establishments to have some indication of numbers who are likely to turn up, so it would be nice if you could inform Kevan Shuttleworth (see contacts page) if you are interested.
Blue	Challenge Rides These are rides of various distances which have to be completed in a time limit. Seven of them are in bold print which signifies that they are part of the Huddersfield and District CTC Award Scheme. Audax rides have to be entered on the standard audax entry form and an entry fee is payable, which varies according to the event. More details can be had from the individual orgnisers or from Events Secretary Peter Ralph (see contacts page).
